What is a bra fitting?

A bra fitting is a professional service where a client is measured and fitted into a bra(s) to determine their correct bra size and bra styles that suit their body type. A bra fitting consists of two parts. The client is first measured to get an idea of their correct bra size. Once this is determined the client is then fitted into a few different bras to determine which size and style fits best. Most clients will have at least two bra sizes that can fit well – their main bra size and a sister size which is another bra size that is very close in fit to the main bra size. Should I change my bra daily?

It is recommended that you rotate your bras to avoid overuse and for hygiene purposes. It is best to have at least 5 to 7 bras that you can rotate as you wear them. One that you are wearing, one that has been washed, a third as a spare, in case the one you washed the day before just has not dried as yet. The other 2 incase you haven’t gotten around to washing previously worn bras.

How long should my bra last?

A good quality bra will last you at least 18 to 24 months (2 years) once you care your bra properly. Particular for underwire bras, machine washing is not recommended, even when using a bra safety wash bag. Please see bra care tips (link to Bra care tip slide)

What is sister sizing for bras?

Sister sizes are sizes that have the same cup capacity but a different band size. You would go down in the band and up in the cup of down in the cup and up in the band For example, someone who wears a 32C could also wear a 30D and a 34B depending on if they want a tighter or looser fitting bra. Make sure you have been fitted and know your true cup size before trying to work out sister sizes.

Should I purchase a smaller than normal size when buying shapewear?

Most shapewear come with a size chart that you should follow when purchasing.

Can I use shapewear after a C-section?

It is best to get clearance from your obstetrician, that the pelvic area is fully healed, prior to using any shapewear after a c-section.
